Flow test confirms capacity

The best way to ensure everyone can access their water simultaneously is to conduct a field flow test. SA Water technicians visited the meter and installed their gauges to monitor pressure whilst flow was increased above the previous setting. Additional flow was achieved without dropping the network pressure below the limits.

This test has ensured that LouWater can take additional flow without affecting anyone else’s access to their water. Subsequently, the additional water license was purchased and transferred to LouWater’s meter. SA Water approved the transfer and adjusted the agreement.

SA Water’s network can supply all LouWater’s customers simultaneously.

This meter assembly has operated reliably for 25 years, delivering irrigation water to the dams of those using the water on their crops. The smaller adjacent meter supplies other farms in a similar manner. Both meters are owned and maintained by SA Water as part of the VPS network.
